Moustache Monday

Welcome to Moustache Monday!

It’s day 11 of Movember, and I’m sure you’re curious about how our models’ moustaches are coming along. Well look no further! Let me introduce you to our first model, George Fadel.

Not to worry ladies! That’s not his daughter, it’s his adorable cousin, and our youngest supporter! And yes, he’s single.

So who’s George Fadel? George, 28, is a U of T alum and a former post-graduate student from Centennial College’s Sports Journalism program. For the past two years, George has worked in sports communications, and is a bit of a sports and health addict.

George is an avid supporter of Movember because “there’s never really been a charity as wide spread that’s been created just for men.” George explains, “1 in 7 men are affected by prostate cancer. Although it’s never affected any of my immediate family, it surely has affected a lot of people close to me.”

That’s the beauty of Movember, it’s creating a brotherhood among men and making it okay to talk about men’s health. Not only that, the movement is doing something about it. George admires the fact that Movember is “an amazing cause and a unique way to have fun. By growing a moustache it’s a great way to build up awareness for the charity.”

Fun fact: George is the brother of one of our Salute to the Moustache team members and introduced her to Movember when he joined the movement last year.

Who’s George modeling his moustache after you ask? An 80’s wrestler.

Like we mentioned, George is a sports and health addict, “I grew up playing sports my entire life, and I try to play as many sports as I can,” says George. George is an active gym-goer who eats very clean. He thinks reading labels are most important in his meal making process. George explains, “Eating right starts with knowing exactly what goes into every meal and how it is prepared.”

Think it’s hard to stay in shape? Not to worry! George has got some great tips for you!
• Find something you really enjoy doing.
• Make working out fun.
• Educate yourself on what you eat
• Don’t give in to myths. Everyone thinks eating right means your food won’t taste as good. There IS great tasting, healthy food out there.
